Falconry
A World Apart
Falconry is as old as time itself and my small journey opened worlds and an understanding not only of nature but also the character of falconers.
Genghis Khan and his Mongol Empire have a profound and enduring legacy in the world of falconry. It's believed Genghis put a 100 falconers in the field at a time. While the practice of hunting with birds of prey predates the Mongols by thousands of years in Central Asia, it was under the Great Khans that falconry reached the level of scale and reached the world.
