Our family's connection with shooting, marksmanship, and hunting, linked to in the Karoo runs deep, woven into the very fabric of who we are and what we sustainably use
Our family's connection to the Karoo runs deep, woven into the very fabric of who we are. From the time we were little, we've been learning the ancient art of hunting, not as a sport, but as a way of life. We see ourselves as stewards of the wild, honouring the animals we hunt by using them responsibly. Every venison meal is a celebration of nature's bounty, a reminder of the delicate balance that sustains us. We respect the wilderness, appreciate its power, and strive to leave it better than we found it. So when you see our family photos, you're not just seeing snapshots of people; you're seeing the legacy of generations, intertwined with the rhythm of nature's heartbeat.
My son's marksman journey began long before school. In primary school, they took up air gun target shooting, following in the footsteps of their grandfather and uncle. With every shot, they learned about responsibility, patience, and the importance of precision. Their dedication led them to earn provincial colours, competing at the national level. In high school, they discovered the allure of black powder shooting, embracing the traditions of muzzle loading and its unique challenges. They went on to achieve national colours, representing South Africa with pride at the world championships in Austria. Their journey embodies the spirit of marksmanship - discipline, focus, and a love for the sport, all honed through years of dedication and passion. Their achievements are a testament to their commitment, talent, and the enduring legacy of marksmanship of our family.
